The Milky Way Mosaic is a greyscale portrait of the center of our galaxy made up of 168 5-minute photographs taken over 6 consecutive nights at the 2004 Queensland Astrofest.
Later combined into 28 individual images and manually assembled into a single mosaic over a 2 month period, a lot of work went into creating this special view of our galaxy. A 10 nanometer hydrogen-alpha filter was used to highlight the incredible nebulous structures in a way not usually seen at a scale this grand.
